WOODBURY— There are two types of people in this world: those who like Halloween and those who love it.
Halloween at Nonnewaug is a perfect way many students and faculty show off their spirit. Students and staff wear their best costumes, and teachers exhibit their creative side by decorating their rooms.
One of Nonnewaug’s administrative assistants, Jennifer Alena, takes pride in her decorating and costumes.
“I decorate the office and dress up every year,” Alena said.
Alena’s decorations are seen and admired by all who enter the central office during the spooky season.
Nonnewaug junior Luke Lodice is one of many impressed by Alena’s efforts.
“You can tell she’s really into Halloween,” says Lodice. “She has decorations up all Halloween and she is one of the few teachers to wear a costume.”
Alena loves dressing up, and wishes she could every day.
“Halloween is the one day I can dress up without anybody saying anything,” said Alena, “I would everyday if people didn’t say anything.”
Halloween on Nonnewaug’s campus is fun for everyone whether they choose to dress up, or just admire costumes.
“Even though I don’t usually dress up on Halloween, it’s still cool seeing everyone in their costumes showing off their school spirit,” said Lodice.
