KB Learning Center in Woodbury offers many forms of extra academic help.

WOODBURY — KB Learning Center is a new tutoring and academic help center that recently opened in Woodbury. Run by co-owners Ali and Jerrod Kirchberger, KB Learning Center offers after-school tutoring and individualized instruction for students in grades K-12.

The center is also open during the day for extra help for kids who are struggling with full or partial distance learning. KB Learning Center specializes mostly in supporting students with IEP or 504 accommodations, but anyone is welcome to stop in and get extra help.

The learning center offers five main types of support to students. There are distance learning sessions, in which students are urged to bring in their own devices and complete assignments for their distance learning with the help of a professional next to them. Distance learning sessions are every weekday for full (8:30 a.m. until 3 p.m.) or half-days (8:30-11 a.m. or 12-3 p.m.).

Homeschooling help is also available in one-, two-, or three-hour sessions for homeschooled students. Group and private individual tutoring sessions also are offered from 3:30-6 p.m., which includes both homework help and extra teaching. The center also offers a variety of late-afternoon clubs and workshops on topics including writing, homework club, history, and more.
