Yearbook Staff Seeks Help From Students
December 17, 2020
WOODBURY — The yearbook is a book of memories, highlighting and recording the year for students to have a something to look back on in the future. Due to the coronavirus, and the school year being very different this year as a result, the Nonnewaug yearbook staff has had to change the way it designs the book and what is included in the book.
With events like pep rallies, homecoming, and sports games not being able to happen, the staff has a limited amount of content. The yearbook staff is asking for Nonnewaug students and parents to share photos, opinions, and information to add to the yearbook.
The yearbook staff is using an app and link called “Community Upload” as an easy way to get students and parents to upload pictures. Photos needed include student life, clubs and organizations, sports, academics, everyday life, and events. Students can upload pictures by visiting yearbookforever.com or downloading the app “Yearbook Snap.”
The yearbook staff has also been keeping up with senior content — senior quotes, superlatives, portraits, and more. The yearbook’s Instagram page has been posting and giving answers to seniors’ questions, asking for seniors’ information, and posting reminders. Seniors can submit a senior quote to faculty advisor Genna Riggi at [email protected] or Lindiana Frangu at [email protected].
The yearbook staff will also send out an advisory activity to talk about the theme of the 2021 yearbook and to give more information on what will be needed from students. The staff has created many surveys for students to answer questions that are vital to this year’s theme.
Students should keep an eye out for more surveys and answer the questions. Without knowing it, students will play an important role in the yearbook this year and truly get to control the content inside of it.
Riggi urges the importance of students’ help this year.
“The yearbook content is historical, as the yearbook freezes moments in time for students and faculty to enjoy and reflect on,” Riggi said. “Asking our student body for content is so important to us because we create this book for all of you.”
Students with questions or ideas can reach out to the yearbook staff.
