WOODBURY — At Nonnewaug, there is a wide variety of cars and people who drive them. One of those people is Mitchell Brooks, who currently owns a 2008 Subaru Impreza.

Brooks purchased the car Dec. 22, 2020, in New Jersey and it cost $5,800.

“I wanted a four-wheel drive car,” Brooks said. “My previous car was only a two-wheel drive car. Plus, on the Carfax [report], it had a lot of work done to it so it was in good shape.”

It has 58,000 miles, a standard transmission, and Brooks recently switched his exhaust for a new one.

Brooks talked about some of his favorite aspects of the vehicle.

“My favorite thing about my car is the seats because they’re very comfy,” said Brooks, whose car has an all-cloth interior.

Brooks also showed a love for his car, but clearly his love for the car isn’t as strong as his love for fast cars — he would take a trade for a Lamborghini without hesitation.

“Yes, I would do that in an instant,” Brooks said. “Lamborghinis are worth a lot of money.”

When asked if he would marry his car, Brooks said: “No, because it is nearly impossible to marry an object.”

At least he isn’t totally attached to his car.

“Personally, I don’t think a car should define how cool you are,” Brooks said. “Having a car is not a personality trait.”

You can see and hear Mitch driving his car at school — make sure to tell him he has a nice car.
