NHS Artists Goodwin, Chambers Recognized by Congresswoman Jahana Hayes

WOODBURY — Two of Nonnewaug’s outstanding student-artists were recognized by Congresswoman Jahana Hayes on Thursday, June 10th, during the NHS Art Show.

Anna Goodwin, junior, won 1st place in the 2021 Congressional Arts Competition for her work, “Allegro.” Her piece will be displayed in the Capitol Tunnel.

Mekhi Chambers, senior, won a National Gold Medal for his piece called “Fitting In,” which will be displayed in the Congresswoman’s Waterbury office.

Hayes visited Nonnewaug on June 10 to congratulate the winners. She also spent time viewing the NHS Art Show and meeting with students and staff.
