The Goshen Stampede Kicks Off 2021 Summer Fun

Allison Southard, General Assignment Reporter

Goshen — The Goshen Stampede is back! Due to the Covid-19 lockdown last year, the stampede was unable to happen – along with almost everything else. This year, however, the Stampede is back in action and will be taking place the weekends of June 4th – 6th and 11th -13th, at the Goshen Fairgrounds in Goshen, CT.

The Goshen Stampede welcomes you to the Goshen Fairgrounds. The Fairgrounds are located in Goshen, CT.

There are many events that take place at the Stampede. Here are a few:

  • Bull Riding and Bronc Riding
  • Demolition Derbies
  • Barrel Racing
  • Truck Pulls
  • Monster Truck Mania
  • Petting Zoo
  • Kids and Adult Rodeos

“My favorite event is definitely the demolition derby,” said Elizabeth Scalzo, junior at Nonnewaug High School.

The Demolition Derby is an event that typically consists of 5 or more drivers that compete against each other to demolish the others’ cars. These are real life bumper cars.

“I think it’s nice that they are doing it this year, since it’s like another step closer to normalcy that we all want,” Scalzo concluded.

At the stampede they also have bull riding and bronc riding. Both of these events are very intense, but very fun to watch, according to NHS student Rylie Wilkes. “My favorite events to watch are bull riding and bronc riding. I plan to go anytime that I can.”

The tickets for the stampede are $20 for adults, $15 for 6-17 year-olds, and kids are free. More information can be found on their website: https://www.goshenstampede.com/
