Harry’s House: Styles’ New Album Exhilarates Fans Everywhere

Harry Styles dropped his third album May 20 at midnight. This studio album, Harry’s House, includes 13 songs: “Music For a Sushi Restaurant,” “Late Night Talking,” “Grapejuice,” “As It Was,” “Daylight,” “Little Freak,” “Matilda,” “Cinema,” “Daydreaming,” “Keep Driving,” “Satellite,” “Boyfriends,” and “Love Of My Life.”

This album was highly anticipated and drummed up lots of excitement from fans around the world. This album follows Fine Line, which was released in December 2019. Fans enjoyed the Instagram and TikTok accounts called “youarehome,” where every day at noon a new post including a half-open door with different photos relating to lyrics from the new album was shared.  

“I loved the album. I thought it was probably his best album,” said Hayley Anderson, freshman at Nonnewaug. “Hearing it live at One Night Only makes the experience even better.”

Nonnewaug students’ favorite songs include “Matilda,” “Late Night Talking,” “Cinema,” “Music For A Sushi Restaurant,” “Satellite,” “Little Freak,” and “Love of My Life.”

“I loved the album,” said Madi Dannenhoffer, junior at NHS. “Definitely a little more upbeat and vibey.”

Styles performed his new album at an exclusive One Night Only in New York event. This concert was held at UBS Arena on Long Island. Styles is doing another North American concert tour from August to October later this year.

Styles previously surprised fans at a listening party that invited his top listeners who used Spotify. Before the album was released, Styles performed on different talk shows, including the Howard Stern Show and the Today Show as well as the Coachella music festival, where he sang some of his new album.

Styles’ single “As It Was” has been at the top of the charts since it was released. On iTunes, Styles’ album debuted at No. 1.

On Global Apple Music charts, all of Harry’s House has been in the top 20. Harry’s House earned over 97 million streams on Global Spotify Charts, becoming the fifth biggest album debut of all time.

On May 20, Styles also was the No. 1 most streamed artist on Spotify with over 100 million streams, where he became the seventh artist in history to complete this milestone.

All of Styles’ new songs have been on the top 50 global since the day of release. While Spotify posted on Instagram the top 10 songs from May 20-22, Styles’ songs filled up every spot. 

“I loved it. I think it’s a bit different than what he has produced previously and I really enjoy that,” said Emily Crawford, a junior. “It’s nice when artists come out with new, fresh music.”

“I love the album,” freshman Julia Longoria said. “I think the songs on it are different from anything he’s ever done. It is amazing!”
