DANBURY, Conn. — Coming off of their league meet wins against Housatonic and Wamogo, both the Nonnewaug boys and girls team competed in the 41st O’Grady Relays on April 27.
“O’Grady’s is a great meet because it gives off a better sense of competition,” said Perez. “Some of the best schools in the state are there to face off against each other and it really is a whole different experience.”
The meet had an upwards of 46 total events spanning over the course of two days. This invite housed the 2000-meter steeplechase, the hammer throw, and the 4×200 relay. These events are rare to come across and compete in high school outdoor track and field.
The Chiefs are eager to take on Northwestern and Gilbert at Northwestern on April 30 to expand on their 2-0 record.
