DURHAM — After the Nonnewaug boys and girls outdoor track teams added to their winning streak in the Berkshire League, they both competed in the Marty Roberts Invitational on May 4.
“The people at the Marty Roberts meet are always so nice but push you to be the best,” said junior Ellie McDonald. “At the league meets, they go by so fast and there isn’t much time for breaks, but they are also fun [and] definitely a lot more low-key because the competition at this meet is so much better.”
This was one of the first bigger meets of the season where the temperature was great as well as the competition. These two factors helped the Chiefs run to their best ability and improve in the Berkshire League.
The Chiefs hold 6-0 records for both the boys and the girls team. Their next meet is May 11 at Torrington High School for the Torrington Varsity Alumni Club Invitational.
