Hobby Talk: Crochet Club Starts a ‘Molepocalypse’ (PODCAST)

WOODBURY — Students and teachers around Nonnewaug High School have noticed crochet stuffed moles being carried up and down in the school’s hallways. These are thanks to Nonnewaug’s newest club, the Crochet Club.

In the first episode of Hobby Talk, Olivia Thompson and Aryanna Lucas interviewed Melissa Hodges, a chemistry teacher at Nonnewaug who also started Crochet Club. Hodges has also started the “Molepocalypse.”

Olivia Thompson is a junior at Nonnewaug High School and is a first-year reporter for the NHS Chief Advocate. She is from Naugatuck and is enrolled in the ag program. She plans to go to college for culinary and will be some type of pastry chef. She enjoys writing about the FFA program and events both inside and outside of school.

Aryanna Lucas '26, Reporter

Aryanna Lucas is a junior at Nonnewaug High School. She's from Oxford and part of the agriscience program. She is a first-year reporter for the Chief Advocate, and she participates in the field events in track and field. She enjoys holidays and plans to be a vet tech after high school.
