WOODBURY – Nonnewaug Chiefs Boy’s Tennis is a renowned program, accumulating a repeat state finalist reputation in the past two years, as well as repeat Berkshire League champions. Nobody knows just how they did it, except the team themselves. The competitive nature of the singles team, the poetic symmetry of the doubles team, the uncontrollable and sometimes volatile nature of certain players, all to be discussed and analyzed by the elite roster themselves on Big Swing Podcast, a show dedicated to Nonnewaug Boys Tennis.
Over the years the roster has changed, players have graduated, but one man has been at the helm to consistently lead the Chiefs into battle—Nick Sheikh.
On today’s episode of Big Swing, we will hear about coach Sheikh’s legendary cool composure, his secret formula as a coach, his experiences on the court, his commentary on the Berkshire League and it’s players, and much more. Sheikh can be described as a wolf in a world of sheep, not unlike the team he coaches. A man of quiet demeanor, who acts with purpose and intention. His knowledge regarding the game of tennis knows no limits, so tune in to the Big Swing podcast to find out.
