WOODBURY — Todd Gorski was at Woodbury Middle School for six years when he was told about an opportunity for a music teacher at the high school. He took that opportunity and is now back as a music teacher at Nonnewaug. He also runs the band, chorus and orchestra. He also helps with musical theater.
“I walk in the door and I have to pinch myself every day,” Gorski said.
Since Gorski last worked here six years ago, Nonnewaug has changed a lot. There is a new auditorium, and all classrooms have been renovated. Even the layout of the floors is different.
“It was interesting for me because I helped plan this renovated music suite,” Gorski said, “and now I’m living in something we worked to plan.”
June Robinson, a junior at Nonnewaug, went to WMS, and she’s excited that Gorski is back.
“I had him in middle school, and I really loved his classes, so I’m really excited to get to have him as a teacher again,” says Robinson.
Robinson is also in drama, which Gorski assists with.
“Anything music-wise,” Robinson says, “he is in charge of that.”
