WOODBURY– From Uggs, to sweatpants, to Stanleys, when trends come to Nonnewaug they make an impact.

“I’d say Nonnewaug is a very trendy school,” said freshman Rosemary Makarewicz. “Students, including myself, are always obsessed with another new trendy accessory or piece of clothing.”

Makarewicz, like many students at Nonnewaug and nationwide, has fallen victim to many trends, “Me personally I love my uggs, and my blazers.”

It’s safe to say that many trends have made their way through Nonnewaug, but what have they left in their wake? Makarewicz says that it is fun to be walking down the hallway and seeing your friend with the same water bottle as you.

“It’s so cool to just see all the different people with these common water bottles, or shoes,” says Makarewicz. “I definitely think it helps to foster a sense of community in Nonnewaug, it gives us something in common to bond over.”

Maryn Heinrich, also a Freshman at Nonnewaug, says that she doesn’t really follow the trends.

“I’m not on social media too often, but it’s pretty when two of my friends come to school with the same shirt on,” says Heinrich. “Even if I’m not the one matching it still makes me laugh every time I see them together.”
