The Chief Advocate’s editorial staff has selected senior football player R.J. Barksdale and senior soccer player Savannah Czerepacha as Nonnewaug’s Athletes of the Month for November.
Barksdale led Northwest United to a share of a second Connecticut Technical Conference championship in three years with a 9-1 overall record. His best game of the month came Nov. 2 against O’Brien Tech, when he recorded 15 tackles, a forced fumble, and two catches for 77 yards. He earned All-CTC honors.
Czerepacha led the Nonnewaug girls soccer team to the Class M semifinals by posting two shutouts in the opening rounds, then saving a penalty kick in a shootout victory over New Fairfield in the quarterfinals.
