BETHLEHEM — On Nov. 8 at March Farms, with the wind blowing, Woodbury FFA set up for their second year hosting district social, hoping for a good turn out.
There was a lot of preparation and thought that went into this event, with sophomore block taking the biggest charge on the event by planning the activities and finding the venue. The Woodbury FFA events planning committee was there when any assistance was needed.
“District social was very successful,” said Hungerford. “We invited five districts including ourselves, and we only had two show up, but other than attendance issue everything went smoothly.”
The five districts consist of Woodbury, Wamogo, Northwestern, Housatonic and Shepaug: from those five only Woodbury and Wamogo showed up.
Aspen Hood, a freshman from Wamogo, had some positive feedback.
“I liked how both schools were all talking by the end of the night,” Hood said.
They had many activities to participate in, which consisted of hay bale toss, corn hole, egg on a spoon and a corn maze.
“One of the activities that popped out to me was hay bale toss,” said Hood. “During it we were all cheering on either side.”
Nonnewaug sophomore block officer Charlotte Gowell also had a favorite activity from the afternoon.
“One of the events that stood out in particular to me was the corn maze,” Gowell said, “because it made everyone work together.”
