WOODBURY — While people may think of campfires and tents when imagining the Scouts of America, the longstanding organization is about a lot more than the stereotype.
Nonnewaug sophomore Hayden Osterhout, the senior patrol leader of Troop 480 in Woodbury, says that Scouts teaches young people important life skills that they’ll be able to use not just in nature but in everyday life.
And the Scouts program isn’t just about teaching skills — it’s about creating memories that last a lifetime.
