The Chief Advocate’s editorial staff has selected senior basketball player Matt Shupenis and freshman runner Maddie Garguilo as Nonnewaug’s Athletes of the Month for March.
Shupenis earned Berkshire League First-Team All-Star honors and had 23 points, 12 rebounds and 10 blocks on March 3 against Plainville in the Division IV state tournament first round.
Garguilo placed 15th at the New Balance Indoor Nationals in the 800 meters, along with being part of the sprint medley relay team at Nationals on March 14 in Boston.
