WOODBURY — Graduation is approaching soon, as seniors get ready to walk across the stage, what about their younger siblings they are leaving behind.
For some, they won’t see much of a difference, while for others it will be a lot to adjust to.
For one freshman Owen Hustek, he feels like not much will change when his older sister Ava graduates.

“I’ll have less rides to and from school when I don’t have one,” said Owen. “For me, it’s really just rides that will be different and not being able to see her in the hallways.”
On the flip side, some other freshmen feel a lot different once their older siblings have graduated.
Gwen Scozzafava will be walking the stage in June, leaving her younger sister Fiona.
“I think it will definitely be weird not seeing her in the hallways or not being able to talk to her about my classes that she already went through and had those teachers,” said Fiona. “It will definitely be different without her here for her advice and just saying hi.”
Similar to the Scozzafava sisters, Grace Walkup and Anna Walkup are in the same situation. Grace will be walking the stage and is college-bound after high school. For her sister, Anna, a freshman, she feels there will be a different feel in the school with the years to come.
“Next year it will be a lot different,” said Anna. “I always walk with her in the halls and I will also miss having her to help me with things because she has already had the chance to experience some of these things.”
The hallways are not the only differences for these girls. Like Owen, rides will also be different for Anna..
“This year Grace was able to drive me into school,” adds Anna. “Now it will be my parents’ responsibility.”
