WOODBURY – As the leaves fall off the trees, another year of “America’s Game” approaches the quarter mark as professional football enters Week 4. With every new season with the NFL comes receivers catching impossible balls, linebackers laying out running backs and year-long excitement.
According to ESPN.com the Buffalo Bills have the best chance to win the Superbowl, followed by the Baltimore Ravens and reigning Superbowl champs, the Philadelphia Eagles.

For Nonnewaug students, not everyone is buying the Buffalo hype.
“I don’t think so,” said Tyler DiElsi, a senior football fan. “I think the Bills are obviously a good team, but they are not ready yet, they seem to choke every year, they’re defense isn’t that great and same with they’re receivers.”
Rather, DiElsi sees a potential champion coming out of the NFC.
“I would say the [Washington] Commanders [are a future champion],” DiElsi said. “They have both veterans and young guys; I love Jayden Daniels. He had a great rookie season and carried them to a wild card spot and with the extra experience could lead them to a super bowl win.”
As it’s always a dogfight to hoist the Lombardi Trophy, the Most Valuable Player race is just as close, and according to ESPN.com they have Josh Allen as a +250 favorite.
For seniors like Brady Herman, the future league MVP may reside in Washington.
“I only have two words for you: Jayden Daniels,” said Herman.“He’s my pick for MVP [most valuable player] because he can turn nothing into something, he can extend the play and his IQ is through the roof.”
“The Broncos are in for a rough season,” Herman said. “They have no leadership, nobody stands out, every good team has a stand out player, and they don’t. I don’t see them winning more than 6 games.”
With the NFL season still in its early stages, there is plenty of time for a team to turn things around and make significant progress.
