WOODBURY- On November 24th the Nonnewaug high school junior girls took on the challenge of competing against the NHS senior girls. Both grades continued the annual tradition of the NHS powderpuff game. In the end the juniors came out with a 28-22 win.
Scarlett Ivey, a wide receiver for the juniors team, felt that all the practice they put in helped them come out with a win.
“We practiced our routes during practice so we could run them easily during the game,” said Ivey. “Having lots of coaches that were dedicated to coaching us and helped us win.”
Gianna Desjardins agrees with Ivey that all the work they did leading up to the game helped them most during it.
“I think that we worked hard during practice to get everything set in time for the game,” said Desjardins.
