Uggs, Carhartts, AirPods on Nonnewaug’s Holiday Wish Lists

Senior Vicky Koether wears Carhartt to school on the daily. For Christmas this year, she hopes for more to add to her collection.

WOODBURY – Santa Claus is coming to town, and Nonnewaug students have new wish lists for this year’s Christmas season. Whether it be Stanleys or Hydro Flasks, Uggs or Jordans, students are set to rack up their parents’ credit cards this holiday.

It’s been a popular year for Uggs considering it’s the new in style and the hype over Converse is fading.

Karli Brandt is among the people who want Uggs for Christmas — but that’s not all.

“My number one on my wish list is Apple headphones, not the AirPods,” Brandt said. “I also really want the [Ugg] Ultra Minis.”

Savannah Lionhood is thinking more casual for her wish list.

“I’m thinking pajama pants and a tote bag,” said Lionhood.

Art teacher Genna Riggi is in the holiday spirit, which can only be partially addressed by gifts.

“I want a Dustbuster and to go skiing, so I hope it is a white Christmas,” Riggi said.

The most common items on Nonnewaug students’ wish list are clothes.

“I love books, so I’m hoping to get some. I also really want clothes,” said Riley McDonald.

“I have jeans on my wish list, new AirPods, and more Carhartt hats,” said Aurora Francisco.

Carhartt is a popular brand this year. Vicky Koether would like to add more to her collection, but that’s not all.

“I know it’s big, but I would like a quad for Christmas,” Koether said. “I also want makeup storage, Carhartt sweatshirts, Miss Me Jeans, and accessories for my Jeep.”

Kathy Green, the College and Career Resource Center counselor, isn’t thinking so extravagantly for her list.

“For Christmas, I was thinking of perfume, or clothes, maybe a ShopRite gift card,” Green joked.

Some are thinking outside the box for their wish lists, taking into account the bigger picture.

“My number one is a MacBook because I’ve been asking since middle school for one and I need one next year for college, so I’m planning ahead,” said Campbell Bologna. “I want gift cards because I want to shop for dorm necessities. So for Christmas, I’m practically buying myself college stuff.”
