WOODBURY – The Berkshire League, a collection of eight unique campuses, has long provided some compelling matchups and memorable athletes. NHS student-journalists, Kailey Meeker and Dakota DiBiase sit down with some of Nonnewaug’s top athletes and their experiences in Berkshire League competition.
This week, two special guests join Meeker and DiBiase on this week’s episode of the BLS Talk Show to discuss their experiences playing in the BL. Sophomore Scarlett Ivey, a varsity cross-country runner, makes the first appearance on this week’s episode. Ivey expresses her viewpoint on states on behalf of the cross country team and reflects on how she feels she performed as an individual. Our second co-host in this week’s episode is freshman Rosemary Makarewicz. Makarewicz has had a memorable freshman year, serving as a vital midfielder on this year’s state tournament team.
This part of the podcast’s segment focuses on Makarewicz’s perspective explaining what it’s like to be the only freshman on a talented varsity team. She illustrates how she and her teammates prepared for states and some challenges she faced in the highly competitive Berkshire League.
The final segment of this podcast in this week’s episode contains opinions from both hosts Meeker and DiBiase to get a little bit of sports background. The hosts of this podcast bring a unique perspective in that they are both NHS athletes themselves.
