Kendrick Lamar may be the headliner for the Super Bowl LIX halftime show Sunday, but he’s bringing a special guest.
Will this queen steal the show?
“SZA is a baddie,” said sophomore Erin O’Leary. “I love her. Kendrick Lamar is overrated, but I’m excited that it’s going to be a good show.”
Sophomore Sadie Turchuk agrees with O’Leary.
“I am a huge fan of both of them and I think the show is gonna be great,” said Turchuka.
Lamar is quite a switch-up from what we had in the past few years: Shakira, Usher, Eminem, and Snoop Dogg. Will he fill the role of what we’ve had in the past.
Junior Brynn Clampett is excited for what the halftime show will bring.
“I enjoy the halftime show every year. I’m a fan of Kendrick Lamar. He’s in a decent amount of my playlists, his music is good,” said Clampett. “I’m pretty excited for him to perform with SZA. I think a lot of people will enjoy it.”
Junior Brayden Whipple agrees with Clampett.
“I’m excited for the halftime show. They’re switching up what they’ve done the last few years so that’s exciting,” said Whipple. “I think Kendrick Lamar is a good artist and he’s been dominating the industry for a while now.”
Many are excited for the collaboration because of songs the two have previously collaborated on. Senior Matt Dutton is excited for the beef that may take place on the show.
“I’m excited for Kendrick Lamar and Drake’s beef,” said Dutton. “I hope he doesn’t play Not Like Us because he fits his personality.”
“I’m excited for Kendrick Lamar singing,” said junior Ethan Wild. “I hope he sings Luther because it’s a banger.”
While a lot of people are excited, not everybody is on board.
“I have no clue who they are,” said junior Noah Blood.
