WOODBURY- Entertainment has become a key part of our lives. If you walk down any school hallway, you’ll likely hear students excitedly chatting about their favorite TV shows or movies. While what people enjoy watching is different between one person to the next , but one thing that often stays the same is live-action remakes of Tv-shows or films falling short of Everyone’s expectations.

Audiences frequently find these adaptations boring and not like the original. Why watch the live action when the original is much better? it’s not so often, a Live action show actually does well but the live-action “One Piece” has. Unlike many other Live actions, “One Piece” has kept the essence of the original , earning praise from longtime fans and newcomers alike for bringing the show to life in this new way. The show did so good that even with a large budget the show is being renewed for a season two set for this march, with many fans of the show are very excited for the new adventures that await luffy and his crew.
“I’ve been dreaming of seeing the Grand Line come to life, and with the crew finally setting sail for Alabasta, the stakes are higher than ever,” said Liam McGrath NHS Sophomore “Season 2 of the live-action ‘One Piece’ promises bigger battles and even crazier adventures.”
Season 2 is a key season that will cover multiple amazing arcs from the show, like drum kingdom and log town. with Season 2 coming soon the show will be introducing key characters like Nico robin and Tony Tony Chopper to the main cast of character bring more of our favorite Mugiwara’s to flesh or in choppers case realistic CGI. In the first season we saw that the production were willing to change parts of the story and characters to make sure this world translates better to the live action, like introducing Garp earlier in the story and giving him a more prominent role or editing Characters like Usopp and Sanjis personalities, making them more approachable to newer viewers who might find their over the top personalities a little too much.
“These shifts of character, in my opinion, are necessary,” says Bruce Hoyt, an NHS sophomore. “They allow new viewers to become accustomed to the characters before seeing the full silliness of them in the actual anime.”
The live-action series is a gateway to the original, being used to bring more people to the anime by showing the vast world of one piece in a new light. Bringing, Characters their emotions and journeys to flesh and bone. The goal of the one piece live action is to help one piece spread to new audiences and bring a new layer of intrigue to it’s vast world.
“I never really watched the anime ‘One Piece,’ but when the live-action adaptation was released, I watched it with my son and, to my surprise, I enjoyed the show,” says Woodbury community member, mother and Region #14 bus driver Britney Labraque. “The characters were well-developed and engaging, and the story had a depth that kept me interested,” says Labraque. “I’ve seen a lot of live-action adaptations that missed the mark, but this one made me genuinely look forward to the next episode. Sharing that excitement with my son made it even more special, and now we’re both eagerly anticipating season two.”
While the live action has made both major and subtle changes to the beloved world and characters fans have grown to love or hate, Fans understand that these changes were made with the best interest in mind accepting this as how the film industry works and still waiting with growing anticipation for season 2 of “one piece”. Eager to see how the story will evolve and the adventures the Mugiwaras will take.
“I’m excited to see where season two takes us, and for the adventures that await the crew,” says McGrath.
