The Chief Advocate’s editorial staff has selected Nonnewaug basketball sophomore point guard Brady Herman and Nonnewaug sophomore swimmer Grace Rubacha as the school’s December Athletes of the Month.

Herman, in his first season as a starter, has paced the Chiefs’ offense. He tallied 18 points, five assists and six steals Dec. 19 in a 97-47 win over Housatonic and added 17 points in a 70-51 victory over Wamogo on Dec. 14. Rubacha started her season on a high note by winning the 200-yard freestyle Dec. 19 against the Oxford boys swim team.
