O’Brien’s Take on Teaching Adds up to Success for NHS Students (VIDEO)

WOODBURY — This 2023-24 school year marks Lauren O’Brien’s first full year as a teacher at Nonnewaug High School. In this she has impacted her students’ lives daily. Students have remarked how O’Brien isn’t just knowledgeable and enthusiastic about her courses, but she’s also a resource for students navigating the challenges that come with being a high school student. 

In this video, O’Brien explains where her passion for education stems from and how that’s an asset to NHS’ campus.  When she’s not teaching, she loves to spend her free time with her son and family. In total, O’Brien brings her math courses to life and is a trusted faculty member for all of her students.

Ava Hustek is a junior at Nonnewaug High School and is a reporter for the NHS Chief Advocate. She is from Middlebury and is in the ag program. She plans to major in veterinary science. In her free time, she likes to be with her friends and work with cows. As a first-year reporter, she is excited to write about sports and school events.
