WASHINGTON, Conn. — The Nonnewaug swim team defeated Litchfield on Jan. 29. 

Kyle Viveros placed first in the 200-yard individual medley and the 100-yard breaststroke. Grace Walkup won both the 200-yard freestyle and the 500-yard freestyle. Maddox Poythress placed first in the 100-yard butterfly.  

“Litchfield is a strong team but we were able to work together to win against them,” said Viveros, a senior captain. “It really took every teammate to score points, but even to cheer each other on and want each other to go fast. It feels good to win, especially with this team.” 

Nonnewaug’s next meet is Feb. 1 at Kennedy High School against Northwestern.

The Universal Globe fountain, which appears in Hollywood. In 1915, Universal City ranch was built, being one of the first big film studios in Hollywood, and for decades would continue as such, having in-house movie sets, animation departments, and more. Through the 1920s to the 1960s, Universal became famous for many films and characters, as such, a lot of demand to see how the stories were made. It originally had walking tours during the days of silent films, but it wouldn’t be until the middle of the 1960s, when the studio tours would become a standard.
